sales Opportunities
An Opportunity in Naviteer CRM is a qualified sales lead that could be converted into a sale. More specifically it is a chance to sell a prospect product.
This table is a list of all open opportunities for the logged in sales representative (broker).
Opportunities are linked to the Prospective Company (Prospect).
Sales Opportunities are available by selecting Opportunities from the CRM menu.
The Opportunity list is sorted by Opportunity Number. This is a sequentially assigned system number, just like customer orders and contracts.
Opportunities that are no longer in play should be closed so that they are filtered from the list. You can simply enter the opportunity number while the list has focus, to locate it. Press Enter and you will be editing the opportunity. You can click on any column header to sort and then type your search value while the list has focus.
The number now prints in the header of the internal print and the Sales Quote print. This is a good reference number.

Create Orders or Contracts from Opportunity
|
Create order/contract will send the selected opportunity to order or contract processing. This menu item adds all of the products to an order or contract. The buttons above the product table are for viewing the related orders or contracts created from the opportunity.

Once you select the task bar menu option to create order or contract the following pops up.

Next you are presented with the principal/vendor and customer information and an option to change the ship date.

Create Order and a confirmation pops up closing the opportunity and removing it from the opportunity list. Since the CRM users may not have direct access to order entry the order does not show for the CRM user. However, the order/contract can be viewed from with the product table as shown by the red arrow. The order entry people will see the order as pending.

Opening the order reveals the information passed from the CRM module. The pending status note indicates the order origination.

The order entry person would now confirm all details of the order and set the status as open.
Creating a contract is remarkably similar.
