Write Offs

 

Write Offs are deductions from an invoice that have been agreed upon by the Broker/Distributor and the Principal. 

 

If for example a Principal has a reason to reduce a commission payment (which the Broker accepts), the broker can write off what is left on an invoice.

 

NOTE: Make sure a write off account is assigned in the default accounts

 

A small amount ($0.38) is left on invoice 3.

 

 

After the Write Off button is pressed for the selected invoice #3, a message pops up to confirm the transaction.

 

 

Press Yes to accept and No to return.  Pressing Yes completeds the transaction with the following note.

 

 

The invoice is removed.

 

 

The transaction can be reviewed in Principal Commissions or Customer account Inquiry.

 

 

Since the invoice has been closed the Include Closed invoices check box has to be checked to see invoice #3.  The 38 cents has been written off.
