Viewing Non-Supported EDI files

 

In EDI setup, there is a new folder specification for archiving unsupported EDI files, for example EDI 875 etc:

 

 

 

The folder will auto fill and auto create when you enter EDI Setup and then do a Save.

When the Get and Process POs is run, files that are not supported (not an 850 or 860 at this time), they are added to the unsupported EDI file log (new table: EDI_UFileLog) and moved to the archive folder and renamed (YYYYMMDDHHSS_#.EDI).  This name makes it easier to reference.  The original name is retained in the log if ever needed.

For each unsupported file encountered, a message is displayed during the initial process:

 

 

This is the only reminder for the user to go look at the log to view each file (by auto copying it to the client PC and opening in the EDI file viewer which must be installed).

The unsupported log is accessed via the new button to the left of the View EDI File button (the one with the red X). 

 

 

Here is an example of a file list:

 

 

Simply click the View File button and the file will auto copy to the client PC where it should open in the Liason EDI Notepad (if the viewer is installed on the client 's computer).

 

An example Liason Notepad file open on client computer is shown below.  Please note that the viewer must be setup to display in HTML format and the correct file selected.

 

 

 

In the EDI Notepad's Tools >> Settings, the user should set the Default view level to Document to get the above nicely formatted EDI info document.

 

 

The listed information can now be used to manually enter a PO into the Naviteer system.
